Did you know that you may need to change your skincare routine with the changing seasons? Seasonal skincare is vital for healthy, glowing skin, and you may need to transition your skin when the weather changes to different products. Read on for a quick overview of our skincare tips during the changing seasons.
Spring and Summer Skin Care
We are big advocates of wearing sun cream or SPF every day in every season, but you may need to increase your SPF to something higher in spring and summer. If you spend a lot of time outdoors doing sports, working in your garden or outside, vacationing, etc., you’ll want to wear sun cream with 50 SPF that is broad-spectrum and protects against both UVA and UVB rays.
We can highly recommend Heliocare sunscreen that offers high-level protection from the sun’s four radiations (UVB-UVA-VL-IR). As the weather gets hot, you may find serums are too heavy for everyday use, so use them just a few times a week.
Fall and Winter Skin Care
When the weather gets cold, the humidity is also lower, which means less moisture in the air and dryer skin. If you are already prone to dry skin, you may find your skin is crying out for moisture and oil during the fall and winter months. You might want to up your moisturising to day and night if you aren’t already, and you may need a product that has more oil or is completely oil-based. Moisturiser is your best friend, and you don’t want to skip the sunscreen either.
You may think that because it’s cloudy that you don’t need it, but a daily SPF of at least 20 is recommended in winter as the ultraviolet rays can still permeate cloud cover. You may want to incorporate a gentle exfoliator and a serum to combat any dryness during the winter too.
