At Harley Street MD, we can evaluate your human growth hormone levels and determine whether you have a growth hormone deficiency. If our doctors believe you would benefit from hormone replacement, we may recommend HGH replacement therapy to alleviate symptoms and improve your quality of life.

Human Growth Hormone Replacement Therapy for Men

Human growth hormone (HGH, hGH or GH) serves an essential role in adult life, improving lean muscle mass, bone density, physical strength and aerobic capacity while simultaneously promoting fat loss by reducing visceral fat accumulation. It’s perfectly normal as we age for HGH production to slow down, but some men may experience HGH deficiency that negatively impacts their life. Human growth hormone replacement therapy can help men combat these adverse effects and serve as an anti-ageing therapy.

What Is Human Growth Hormone?

As the name suggests, the human growth hormone is an important mediator of the human growth process. HGH is a small protein made naturally within the body, created by the pituitary gland and then secreted into the bloodstream. Growth hormone is something we release a lot of during childhood and teenage years (when we’re growing the most), but as we reach adulthood, the production of this hormone slows down.

The natural growth hormone, also known as somatropin, promotes the growth and development of cells in the muscles, bones and vital organs. It also supports our metabolism, aids recovery and regulates body composition.

While decreased levels of growth hormone are normal as you age, some people suffer from a further HGH deficiency that results in several negative symptoms. Human growth hormone injections are a fantastic, low-risk option that can help if you have a human growth hormone deficiency.

How Can a Human Growth Hormone Deficiency Affect You?

Sadly, after the third decade of adult life, growth hormone secretion declines progressively by approximately 15% every decade. If you have adult growth hormone deficiency (AGHD), you  may experience the following symptoms:

• Loss of muscle mass

• Increased abdominal fat

• Lack of energy

• Muscle weakness

• Mood swings

• Low sex drive

• Erectile dysfunction

• Disturbed sleep

• Dry skin

• Visible signs of skin ageing

• Slow healing of wounds or injuries

• Memory and cognition problems

• Increased cholesterol levels

• Increased insulin resistance

• Compromised immune system.

Lack of GH can also be a factor in anxiety and depression, weight gain, risk of heart disease and risk of strokes. Many of the symptoms listed can negatively impact quality of life and become a source of anguish. Some men use human growth hormone in bodybuilding and sports, but we don’t recommend you try this without medical supervision.

If you feel you might benefit from HGH replacement therapy, contact us to book an appointment and discuss your concerns. After evaluation, our medical professionals will develop a bespoke plan that meets your needs. The results will help you start feeling like yourself again and balance out some of the negative symptoms you’ve experienced.

Benefits of HGH Replacement Therapy

If you have a growth hormone deficiency, HGH replacement therapy could benefit your physical and mental health in several ways. Here are some of the ways it could help:

• Improved mood and mental health

• Higher energy levels

• Better sleep quality

• Increased muscle mass and strength

• Easier to lose weight and keep it off

• Improved libido and sexual performance

• Lower cholesterol

• Balanced testosterone levels

• Better mental acuity and memory

• Improved bone density

• Better immune system function

• Replenished and rejuvenated skin

• Faster recovery from injuries and wounds.

Results will differ for each patient and depend on the growth hormone deficiency-related symptoms they’ve experienced. HGH replacement therapy at Harley Street MD is tailored to each patient to provide the best possible results. Most patients will notice that they feel stronger, more mentally sharp and generally reinvigorated with an improved quality of life.

Although you may notice minor changes within the first month of treatment, results are cumulative over time and benefits are most likely to be experienced fully once hormone levels are restored. This is why the time taken to see positive results may vary between individuals.

Am I a Good Candidate for HGH Replacement Therapy?

To determine whether you’re suitable for HGH replacement therapy, a qualified medical professional at our London clinic will perform a full assessment, including blood tests. If you are an adult suffering from symptoms of growth hormone deficiency, you are likely a good candidate for this treatment and would benefit from an initial consultation.

How Does HGH Replacement Therapy Work?

Human growth hormone replacement therapy is an effective treatment to harvest the benefits of growth hormone. By using recombinant human growth hormone (rHGH), AGHD can be treated under professional medical supervision by injecting additional HGH into the body. The treatment is relatively quick and many patients start seeing positive results within weeks.

Harley Street MD is experienced in treating adults suffering from symptoms of growth hormone deficiency, helping them combat negative symptoms. HGH replacement therapy can be done at home (self-administered) or injected by a doctor. For the best results — especially for those with an existing deficiency — treatments may be administered for months or years.

During this time and throughout the entire treatment, we will ensure that you are regularly checked and a doctor monitors your condition. This will include regular blood tests to monitor hormone levels, cholesterol levels, blood sugar levels and bone density.

When selecting a doctor for HGH therapy, it’s crucial to choose someone experienced and practised in this treatment process. Here at Harley Street MD, we have the experience and knowledge to deliver the results you’re looking for. If you’d like to find out more, we discuss the benefits and side effects of HGH therapy further on our blog. If you decide you want to explore this type of hormone treatment, it’s essential that you do so safely under the supervision of a doctor.

Beginning Your HGH Therapy Treatment

Those with adult growth hormone deficiency may benefit tremendously from HGH therapy. We offer a medically-supervised programme and will look after you carefully, monitoring your progress closely. If you don’t have AGHD but notice you are experiencing the unpleasant symptoms we’ve discussed earlier, we can see if human growth hormone injections are right for you.

Our HGH replacement therapy package begins with a one-hour consultation, full examination and comprehensive laboratory blood tests. It also includes a 30-minute follow-up appointment to educate you on the appropriate HGH administration technique and professional treatment protocol.

Your HGH Replacement Therapy Programme

1. One-hour medical consultation and examination by a doctor specialising in hormone replacement therapy.

2. Comprehensive laboratory blood test that includes:

a. Complete health profile (FBC, UE, LFT, bone, iron, cholesterol, vitamin D, TFT and PSA).

b. Complete growth hormone profile (CEA, CA19.9, AFP, HbA1c and IGF-1).

3. 30-minute follow-up consultation for the diagnosis of growth hormone deficiency and discussion on the customised replacement programme.

4. Education on Genotropin-Go Quick or Norditropin pre-filled pen injection technique, dosage and injection frequency protocol.

5. All HGH hormone prescriptions consist of high-quality, guaranteed cold-chain products. We prefer Genotropin Go Quick or Norditropin for their ease of use and resistance to denaturation due to temperature change.

6. Needles and a sharps bin will be provided through our in-house, ongoing sharps bin disposal service.

7. Monitoring and follow-up to fine-tune your programme. A blood test to evaluate progress and ensure safety while on the programme.

If you think you may be struggling with a growth hormone deficiency, our men’s health specialists can help. Contact us to arrange a consultation and let us help you get back to your old self.

Individual results may vary. The clinic reserves the right to stop the therapy if there are indications of serious side effects, no evidence of clinical improvement, failure to adhere to protocol or failure to follow our recommended blood test monitoring.
