Imagine being able to achieve your dream body without having to go under the knife. Fat freezing technology can help eliminate small pockets of stubborn fat and cellulite that won’t budge no matter how much you diet and exercise. Cryolipolysis offers an effective, non-surgical alternative to invasive liposuction. By taking a 3D approach, Harley Street MD is proud to offer the latest technology in removing pockets of localised fat with virtually no pain and downtime. We include complimentary shockwave therapy, which helps speed up the process of eliminating the fat cells.

How Does Cryolipolysis Fat Freezing Work?

Cryolipolysis helps sculpt, contour and shape your figure by killing fat cells that are then eliminated through the body’s natural excretion process. 3D advanced fat freezing is particularly effective in fatty areas with bulges and flab — subcutaneous fat cells are more vulnerable to the effects of cold than other surrounding tissues, making them the perfect target for fat freezing. Tailored carefully, the procedure will help you to achieve a shapelier silhouette and give you attractive curves without unsightly rolls.

Research and development of fat freezing technology began around 2008 with its invention by Dr Dieter Manstein and Dr Rox Anderson. They created a device called a Coolsculpting machine that chills targeted areas of fat to around -5○C in a controlled, precise manner to kill fat cells without damaging surrounding important structures. All fat cells exposed to temperatures lower than -1○C will undergo crystallisation (freezing) and will be irreversibly damaged. As a result, their cell walls break down and, consequently, trigger a process known as apoptosis (programmed cell death). The dead fat cells and their fatty contents will then be eliminated through the body’s natural excretion process.

What Is Shockwave Therapy?

The combination of cryolipolysis and shockwave therapy treatments is far superior compared to fat freezing alone — up to 40% of the fat can be eliminated in a single session. We go the extra mile to offer 3D acoustic shockwave therapy free of charge as part of the cryolipolysis package. This therapy complements the effects of fat freezing by utilising soundwave energy to reduce fat and cellulite faster. As the device passes over the target area, it emits pulses of radial pressure waves (RPW) through the skin. 3D shockwave therapy creates vibrations to force triglycerides to be released from the fat cells and guide them to the adjacent lymphatic drainage system. As a result, it improves the blood flow to the skin, decreases the volume of fat and greatly reduces the appearance of cellulite.

Harley Street MD is proud to be one of the first clinics to offer this revolutionary new shockwave machine that is designed to reduce excess body fat effectively and non-surgically. By layering these different technologies in the same target area, they become a formidable alternative to invasive liposuction. 3D technology is certainly one of the most advanced and complete devices of its kind.

Which Areas Are Good for Fat Freezing and Shockwave Therapy?

Keep in mind that fat freezing isn’t meant to be a weight-loss tool or help you shed unwanted pounds. This procedure targets small pockets of fat to help with body contouring. You may need more than one session to get the results you desire. Areas that can be treated with cryolipolysis include the stomach, hips, thighs, chest, back, upper arms, buttocks and chin.

Harley Street MD Uses the Best 3D Technology on the Market

The 3D cryoelectrophoresis system that we use in our London clinic is an award-winning technology that made numerous national headlines with countless positive testimonials from celebrities. Unlike other alternatives on the market, the 3D machine not only freezes fat, but it also enables the incorporation of electrophoresis and shockwave therapy in actively reducing localised fat. These cutting-edge technologies have brought cryolipolysis to a whole new level.

What Is the Procedure Like?

When you come in for treatment, the applicators will be placed on the target areas and you will get to relax. The machine uses suction and cold temperatures to numb the area, so you will feel something, but it shouldn’t be painful. The treatment can take an hour, so it’s a good idea to bring a book or something to work on with you. With the new duo-cryolipolysis function, it is now possible to have two areas treated at the same time. Why pay for two sessions and spend two hours on the treatment table when you can pay for only one session and get two areas treated with us?

On top of cryolipolysis of up to two areas per single session, we also include shockwave therapy to maximise your result. You should wait for three months to have your next session in the same area. A bespoke treatment plan will be discussed with you at your initial consultation.

Is the Procedure Safe?

Cryolipolysis is a safer, non-surgical alternative to liposuction, without the complications and downtime. Since it’s a non-invasive procedure that has been clinically studied, doesn’t require anaesthesia and is approved by both the FDA and the EU, the risks are very low. Irregularities in skin contour may occur as they might with liposuction. It’s a good idea to discuss all the risks and ask questions about the procedure at your consultation to make an educated decision on whether or not fat freezing is right for you.

How Long until I See Results?

Perhaps you are trying to slim down for a special event, or maybe you want to get your body beach-ready in time for your next holiday? Whatever the reason may be, Harley Street MD is here to help you achieve your goal. Keep in mind that the process of fat clearance may take a few months to complete, so you’ll want to give yourself ample time before a big day. Results are typically visible after two to three months and are considered long-term as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Call us today to experience 3D advanced cryolipolysis in our London clinic. We will help you lose your unwanted “love handles”, “muffin top”, “saddlebags” and/or “double chin.”
