What is Microneedling Treatment?

The concept of skin microneedling is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever it encounters any form of physical injury. Microneedling is a revolutionary advanced anti-ageing skin treatment that can help stimulate collagen and elastin production. The procedure can result in fast improvements in skin texture and reveal smoother, firmer, healthier and younger-looking skin after just one treatment.

Dermaroller microneedling at Harley Street MD, London, is a skin renewal treatment shown in numerous clinical studies to help induce collagen synthesis through natural wound healing responses.

How Does Dermaroller Microneedling Work?

Dermaroller microneedling uses a skin needling roller that causes a controlled inflammation of the skin by creating microtrauma injuries with fine needles that puncture the skin. This triggers the natural skin healing process and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.

As a result, dermaroller microneedling treatment is effective at reducing the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks and uneven skin pigmentation, as well as improving skin tone and firmness.

Why Get Dermaroller Microneedling Treatment at Harley Street, MD?

Harley Street MD is one of the few CQC-registered aesthetic clinics in London where dermaroller microneeling treatment is performed using the  Dermapen 3 Medical. This is a revolutionary microneedling device that operates with FDA-approved, CE-marked, sterile, single-use medical-grade needle cartridges and can significantly improve the appearance of skin around the eyes, face, neck, décolletage, hands and body.  For added hydration and even faster results, the advanced Dermapen 3 Medical also enables mesotherapy to be infiltrated during the procedure.

Recommended in the prestigious Aesthetic Journal, the advanced microneedling technology patented by Dermapen 3 Medical  is superior in various ways:

  • Oscillating vertical needles can create 1300 micro channels per second
  • It uses a single-use spring-loaded cartridge
  • It has an adjustable needle depth of up to 2.5mm.

As a result, the effect of Dermapen 3 Medical is equivalent to other fractional skin rejuvenation procedures, making it appropriate for the treatment of sensitive eye areas and deep scars.

Dermaroller Microneedling Skin Treatment Benefits

Microneedling at Harley St MD in London is one of the safest and most versatile skin treatments we provide for men and women who want to improve their skin. The derma microneedling procedure is suitable for all skin types and can be used on sensitive skin without the risk of hyperpigmentation.

Due to its notable safety profile, derma microneedling therapy can be used as an intensive rejuvenation course of treatments or for ongoing maintenance of younger,  smoother-looking skin.

Dermaroller microneedling skin benefits include treatment for:

  • Wrinkles
  • Skin laxity
  • Active acne
  • Acne scars
  • Burn scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Hyperpigmentation.

Additionally, dermaroller microneedling has several advantages over other anti-ageing skin treatments:

  • Suitable for all skin types and ethnic groups
  • Does not cause skin damage (no ablation/removal of the epidermis)
  • No risk of skin discolouration or hyperpigmentation
  • Safe for use on thin skin formerly treated with chemical peels and lasers
  • Fast results when compared to peels or laser resurfacing treatments
  • Minimal downtime and discomfort during the healing process.

How Many Dermaroller Microneedling Treatments Are Needed?

Although a difference can be seen following a single microneedling treatment, between three to five dermaroller microneedling treatments are recommended at our London clinic to ensure a significant improvement in skin tone and texture. Following your treatment, the use of prescription skincare products and high-level UV protection are crucial for the best possible results between each treatment cycle.

At Harley Street, MD, we can also provide you with a home dermaroller pack to use between your dermaroller microneedling treatment sessions at our London clinic.  Suitable to use up to three times a week, your dermaroller pack comes with a collagen booster gel to help further improve your skin texture and firmness. Any application of our medical skincare products can also be used to reach the deep skin layers, where it is absorbed and retained within the skin for maximum benefit.
