How to Get Rid of Smile Lines with Dermal Fillers

The nasolabial folds, commonly known as “smile lines” or “laugh lines”, become more pronounced as we get older and are a natural sign of ageing. Smile lines are the two skin creases that run from the bottom of the nose, curving down to the corners of the mouth. They result from a loss of facial volume and skin elasticity as we age and become deeper from repetitive smiling and laughing.

To some, they may represent a sign of maturity, status and character or show that you lived a happy life! Nonetheless, when they become very deep, they may make you look older, tired or unhappy. This is where our smile line treatment can make a difference, rejuvenating your face and restoring confidence.

If deep nasolabial folds are causing you distress, smile line fillers can help you get rid of them. This simple procedure offers excellent results quickly and with no downtime.

What Are Smile Line Fillers?

Smile line fillers are a type of dermal filler made with hyaluronic acid (HA). HA fillers are a popular way to restore volume loss by providing structural supports to lift deep creases in the face. Smile line softening with dermal fillers can replenish volume for a more youthful look, stimulating natural hyaluronic acid in targeted areas. This treatment promises increased plumpness and elasticity without the need for invasive plastic surgery or the downtime and lengthy recovery period that comes with it.

What Does Smile Line Filler Treatment Involve?

Smile line treatment is quick and simple, effectively softening wrinkles in as little as 15 minutes. During this popular procedure, a qualified practitioner will inject a hyaluronic acid gel into creases between your mouth and nose, “filling” existing wrinkles, smoothing the skin and restoring lost volume.

What Are the Benefits of Smile Line Treatment?

Smile line filler is a quick, affordable and reversible procedure with immediate results. This treatment is an excellent alternative to cosmetic surgery, giving you the smooth, youthful look you desire with minimal risk and downtime.

As well as softening facial lines, dermal filler stimulates your natural hyaluronic acid production, which acts as an internal moisturiser to hydrate your skin. Our expertly administered smile line filler treatment also offers the following benefits:

  • Minimal pain or discomfort — topical numbing cream is applied to the face before injections. We also use the highest quality dermal fillers with integrated anaesthetic to make treatment more comfortable.
  • Low-risk procedure — smile line fillers are safe and have few side effects. Some patients may notice slight bruising, redness or swelling at the injection site.
  • Minimal recovery time — return to work on the same day.
  • Reversible treatment — smile line fillers are non-permanent and safely dissolve using hyaluronidase if necessary. This offers peace of mind to anyone who hasn’t received treatment before.
  • Long-lasting results — newer generation dermal filler can last up to 18 months.
  • Safe and regulated treatment — HA fillers are EU and FDA approved and CE-marked.

How Long Until I See Results?

You are likely to see results immediately, but the final result may take up to two weeks. We will book a complimentary consultation a fortnight after your treatment to review your progress and discuss any next steps. Every person will have different results depending on lifestyle and other factors, but you can expect to top-up your filler once per year.

The procedure usually takes around 15 minutes on average to complete.
